  Venus and Mars is the fourth album by Wings. Released as the follow-up to the enormously successful Band on the Run, Venus and Mars continued Wings’ string of success and would prove a springboard for a year-long worldwide tour. It was Paul McCartney’s first post-Beatles release on the Capitol Records label.

  The 1973 album Band On the Run featured a trio of Paul McCartney and wife Linda along with guitarist Denny Laine. In 1974, McCartney added guitarist Jimmy McCulloch and drummer Geoff Britton to the line-up. However, due to a personality conflict between McCulloch and Britton, Joe English was hired to replace Britton to finis
