  The eighth longplayer and successor of “The Search For Everything” has been four years in the making. However, with the songs “New Light”, “I Guess I Just Feel Like” and “Carry Me Away”, the US singer-songwriter and guitarist already delivered a few listening impressions in 2018 and 2019.
  In 2021, Mayer released the first official single called “Last Train Home”, which clearly sounds inspired by the sound of the 1980s. Comparisons to bands like Toto, Fleetwood Mac, Dire Straits and Phil Collins are no coincidence. The accompanying video with vintage aesthetics and the album cover of “Sob Rock” complete the overall 80s picture.
