This CD marks the first reissue of a 1981 LP album that is currently difficult to find. Matsudairas *Elixatone* is a multi-track recording featuring three electric pianos (plus a clavinet) tuned to be offset by one-third of a tone. Together with two works for prepared piano by Fujieda, this collection offers a taste of three distinct styles of minimalist musical structure and timbral development. Similarly, in Matsudairas *Celebration*, ten textures organized by musical modes alternate in a serialist manner, creating a sense of momentum.
