Marshall Solard, born in 1927, is one of France’s leading jazz pianists, as well as an accomplished composer, including music for the film “Selfishness.” After a career spanning more than 70 years since his debut, Marshall Solard’s last concert show in 2019 at Salle Gaveau (Paris) is recorded in “Coming Yesterday – Live at Salle Gaveau 2019”.Solard, who has experienced the history of jazz, including New Orleans, middle jazz, bebop, and free jazz, presents this full-length solo piano performance as the culmination of his knowledge and experience. Based on two originals as well as famous numbers by Lester Young, Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Richard Rodgers, and others, this fascinating 60-minute performance is woven together with a truly free and vigorous improvisation.The domestic edition comes with a Japanese commentary written by Kazunori Harada.
