Andy Shauf, a singer/songwriter from Saskatchewan, Canada, who has been described as “the second coming of Elliott Smith,” released his second album “The Neon Skyline” after moving to the Antii label.The album, for which Shauf wrote, performed, arranged, and produced all the songs, was written by Shauf, who switched from his usual piano to guitar instrument. He wrote, performed, arranged, and produced all of the songs. 50 songs were prepared for this release, all of which tell the story of the same night at the bar. Choosing 11 songs from them was apparently quite a challenge, but the end result was seamless and wonderful.The songs, which show glimpses of country and folk influences, are more distinguished by their melancholy melodies and delicate, unpretentious vocals, as Schauf aims for a simpler production than his previous work.
