Graham Coxon digs into his guitar-pop roots on 2026s Castle Park. While technically the English singer/guitarists ninth album, it was recorded over a decade prior during the sessions for his Ben Hillier-produced 2012 album A+E. That set found the ever-mutative founding Blur guitarist exploring a spiky post-punk sound, built around heavy bass grooves and crunchy guitars. While also recorded with Hillier, Castle Park is balmier, more fun, and full of the same kind of ringing power pop and smart slacker indie rock that Coxon championed on albums like 2004s Happiness in Magazines. It also brings to mind his classic work with Blur, and in fact, it was his ongoing reunion with the iconic Brit-pop outfit in 2012 that led to him indefinitely shelving the Castle Park sessions. In the meantime, he also stayed busy supplying the soundtrack to the beloved Channel 4/Netflix comedy-drama The End of the Fing World and debuting his duo the Waeve with partner Rose Eli
