Corey King, who won a Grammy Award for his work with Esperanza Spalding and has collaborated with artists such as Milton Nascimento, Gil Scott-Heron, Bonobo, and Iggy Pop. His music spans jazz, soul, experimental songwriting, and cinematic composition, underpinned by both technical mastery and emotional transparency. His vocals are always at the center, oscillating between whispered introspection and restrained power, while the instruments around him expand and contract. The exquisite upright bass playing by his longtime friend and trusted collaborator, Esperanza Spalding, adds warmth and depth without compromising the albums cohesion.
