French heavyweight dark progressive band Unit Weil releases their fifth albumtheir first in seven yearsfollowing some lineup changes. Moving away from their traditional Lovecraftian cosmic horror aesthetic toward themes that seem to reflect real-world crises, the album features a heavy, desolate soundcharacterized by the undulating bass and resonant Mellotron tones typical of the French dark rock sceneenhanced by sharper guitar work, This is a powerful album that delivers a shock akin to King Crimson veering toward the MagmaUnivers Zero style!
