The year 2025 marked the 150th anniversary of the birth of the painter and composer iurlionis, known for his unique and fantastical style. This album was produced to commemorate the occasion. It features works by iurlionis as well as pieces by contemporary Lithuanian composers dedicated to him. During his short life, iurlionis left behind approximately 300 paintings and some 200 musical compositions. As a composer, his works include orchestral pieces, cantatas, chamber music, and a vast number of piano works. He also composed numerous pieces for cello and piano, the majority of which can be heard on this album. In contrast to the vivid world of his paintings, a dark monochromatic world unfolds, with sounds that can be interpreted as partially atonal or cluster-like.This is a valuable collection of works that, in the history of modern Western music, represents an extremely unique legacy in
