Contriva from Berlin and Chessie from Washington, D.C.two bands that have resonated across time and spaceare releasing their latest collaborative work. Having met following a joint performance in 2001, the two groups found common ground in their unique textures and emotional expression, which blend post-rock, ambient, and experimental music. After two decades of studio exchanges and musical collaboration, this project has culminated in a double LP that elevates the distinctive and expressionistic sounds of both bands. Chessies Stephen Gardner and Ben Bailes paint scenes of the railway with abstract electronics and nostalgic post-rock, while Contrivas Masha Qrella, Max Punktezahl, and others fuse experimental textures into an indie sound rich in complex beauty. Born from the musical alchemy of these six artists, this album is a new classic that transcends the sum of their individual talents.<
