This is an interesting and surprising collection of Beethoven arrangements The Maran Transfigured series, which has so far continued with Bach (98.424) and Mozart (98.231), this time focuses on Beethoven. Stefan Heller’s variation on the theme of “32 Variations WoO.80” is about 18 minutes long. Not only is the variation technique interesting, but also famous melodies from “Destiny,” “Ninth,” “Waldstein Sonata,” Piano Trio No. 1, and other works come to the fore. You could say that this is Heller’s hymn to Beethoven.
