This is the 40th anniversary of Mikala Petri’s career as a performer! Together with her longtime partner Lars Hannibal, she has recorded a disc of pleasant Viennese music of the 18th and 19th centuries. Now, it is said that the first person to open a cafe in Vienna at the end of the 17th century was a Habsburg soldier of Polish descent named Korschitzky. As a reward for helping to defeat the Ottoman Turks who were besieging Vienna at the time, he was given coffee beans left behind by the Turks and opened a caf. The story is now considered a legend, but it is a dream come true. As you know, this caf quickly spread throughout Vienna and became a place for artists to relax and discuss. Of course, one should not forget the excellent music played there, which you can listen to with a cup of coffee in your hand.
