The Testamen labels release of Klemperers Choral is a live recording of a concert held at the Royal Albert Hall in November 1957, featuring the exact same ensemble as the original studio recording. Moreover, it is a rare recording that has never before been released on CD. At that time, Klemperer had been appointed principal conductor of the Philharmonia Orchestra in 1954, and as this performance took place during the peak of his career, he masterfully portrays a truly profound interpretation of Beethoven.
