A Captivating Fusion of Greek and Western European MusicNikita Koshkin, a Russian guitarist and composer born in 1956. In recent years, he has been producing a series of fascinating works in collaboration with the Greek guitarist Elena Papandreou. While his style is distinctly contemporary Russian, it is also filled with a warmth stemming from the pop and rock music he grew up with, and brims with a sense of humor and parody. His major work, the Megalon Concerto, was commissioned by a concert hall in Athens. Megalon refers to an ancient Greek architectural style, and in this piece, Koshkin creates a dialogue between ancient Greek music and modern Western music.King International
