Abbado’s Last Lucerne Festival 2013 Opening Concert Conductor Claudio Abbado sadly passed away on January 20, 2014 at the age of 80. The DVD and Blu-ray released by ACCENTUS MUSIC now includes the opening concert of the 2013 Lucerne Festival. The Lucerne Festival, which began with a concert on the shores of Lake Lucerne in 1938 conducted by Toscanini, celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2013.
