Keyboard music from the 16th century, brought back from the manuscripts!This anthology by Andrea Kezzi, a harpsichordist from Parma, Italy, is based on a collection of 16th-century keyboard manuscripts from the church of the Councillors of Castellalquato in the Emilia region. The collection includes ricercar by renowned church musicians such as Cavazzoni, Fogliano, Veggio, Villani, and Senni, three-part dances by Pavana and Saltarello, which were probably performed at feasts of royalty and nobility, and short dances based on widely circulated melodies and dances of the time. Kezzi is a historical Finnish composer. Kezzi’s historical fingerings vividly recreate the richly nuanced sounds and vibrancy of the dances of the time.Tokyo M-Plus
