The masterful performance of Scheherazade, highly acclaimed by the master of the disc, Naoya Hirabayashi, has been revived! Smetacek’s masterpieces in vivid stereo recording. He is joined by the Prague Symphony Orchestra and the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, which together with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra are known as one of the “three great Czech orchestras. When “Scherzade” was first released in Japan, music critic Naoya Hirabayashi, who is known as a disc demon, praised it highly. Now it has been remastered by ALTUS and is being released again. The “Scheherazade” is still wonderful. Smetacek controls the orchestra with a straightforward approach and reproduces a clear and clear sound. The piece may seem bland at first listen, but the interesting aspects of the piece clearly emerge from the expression without excesses or deficiencies. Smetacek’s typical delicacy is also fully alive.
