Set in 19th century Seville, Spain, this tragedy revolves around Carmen, a passionate gypsy woman, and her fascination with Don Jos, a corporal of the Dragon Cavalry, and Escamillo, a bullfighter. The opera is dramatically performed by a splendid cast of singers including Norman and Frnyi, together with the Orchestre National de France led by Seiji Ozawa. No lyrics translation is included.
