The Vaughan Williams Society presents a reissue of the rare first recording of “Serenade to Music”! The Vaughan Williams Society’s own label, Albion Records, has been featuring unknown, buried, and unpublished works by Leif Vaughan Williams. This album reissues the rare first recording of “Serenade to Music,” composed by Vaughan Williams in 1938 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Henry Wood’s conducting career, recorded 10 days after the first performance. In addition, a wide range of works from songs to operas by the singers selected as soloists for the first performance of “Serenade to Music” are coupled. All 18 pieces included here have been newly remastered for this album by renowned engineer Peter Reynolds. Tokyo M-Plus
