Description:

STOCKHAUSEN’S UNIVERSE IN THREE RECORDINGSOn one DVD, audio and video are each included, and in the audio section, you can hear Stockhausen’s work “STRAHLEN” in three different recordings. The video is spoken in German, with simultaneous audio in English. There are no subtitles. STRAHLEN” is based on the music from “Sunday” in Stockhausen’s seven-part long opera “Light”. Vibraphones and electronic sounds unite to create a strange and pleasant cosmic sound that comes from all over the place. This is a major project by ZKM (Karlsruhe and Media Center), an institute and museum of contemporary art and media art, which began collaborating with the composer in 2003 and completed the sound in 2009.
