In Memory of Margoire…Neukom’s Secret Music Reissued as a 2-CD Set! Two of Margoire’s most famous recordings, formerly on the “K617” label, are being reissued as a 2-CD set! Sigismund von Neukom (1778-1858), an Austrian composer who studied under Michael Haydn, moved to Brazil in 1816 and introduced classical music there. The “Solemn Mass” is a gorgeous work composed for the inauguration ceremony of King Joo VI during his time in Brazil. The Requiem is a dark and powerful work written after his return to Europe. This is a recording to be listened to carefully in memory of Margoire, who passed away on April 14, 2018, at the age of 77. King International
