SACD hybrid disc of works by Jan Antonin Rosie performed by lute virtuoso Jacob Lindberg. Swedish lutenist Jakob Lindberg has one of the widest repertoires in the field of lute music today, focusing on Renaissance and Baroque music, and has won acclaim and popularity for his emotionally rich music supported by deep intelligence. This album follows “Night Songs – From Dowland to Britten” (BIS SA 2082), in which Britten’s “Night Songs by John Dowland” is performed on the lute. The album features four suites, “Menuettes” and “Chaconne” from the works of Jan Antonin Logie, known as “Count Logie”. Jan Antonijn Logie (c.1650-1721), “Count Rosintal” (Johann Anton Logie von Rosintal), was born into a noble family in Bohemia. As a child, he was taught to play the lute by Akazius Kazimir Hlse, which sparked his interest. He studied philosophy at Charles Ferdinand University in Prague
