Bill Evans (Piano)

Description:

“Waltz for Debbie” is the supreme live recording by the Golden Trio of Bill Evans, Scott LaFaro, and Paul Motian. It is no exaggeration to say that this performance is among the most famous of the countless shows they played at the Village Vanguard, which is now celebrating its 80th anniversary. The cover photo was taken in Brussels on February 9, 1965. *Waltz for Debbie* was recorded in New York in June, so the difference in season is striking, but this photo is part of a set with the one used for *Portrait in Jazz*, also released in this series. These two albums are a must-have pair.
