Description:

This album not only serves to revive Parrys long-forgotten works but also offers a comprehensive overview of the diverse charms of British choral music. *From the Depths* is a large-scale psalm setting for 12 voices, featuring stunning counterpoint and a profoundly uplifting spirit. *God Is Our Hope and Strength* is also a magnificent anthem featuring two choral groups, soloists, an orchestra, and organ, showcasing the majestic compositional style characteristic of Parrys later years. The addition of Elgars *Snow* and *From the Heights of Bavaria* creates a beautiful interplay between the public grandeur and private lyricism of British Romantic choral music.Tokyo M Plus
