While the combination of flute and organ was by no means uncommon during the Baroque era, in the realm of contemporary music, the interplay of the organs diverse registrationswhich allow for a wide range of timbresand the flutes specialized playing techniques produces a highly aggressive and stimulating effect.The recordings were made at four different locations to meet the specific requirements of each pieces score. Furthermore, all works were commissioned by Eferin Degen and Matthias Gaoting. The oldest work (by Robin Hoffman) dates back to 2019, while the most recent (by Juan Agende-Brin) was completed in February 2025. The composers each offer original and distinctive responses to this unique challenge.
