“Cos fan tutte,” directed by Michael Haneke, one of the leading filmmakers in contemporary European cinema, features a cast of many outstanding young singers. Conducted by Cambreling!Austrian film director Michael Hanekerenowned for films such as *The Pianist*, *Cach*, *The White Ribbon*, and *Amour*has directed Mozarts masterpiece *Cos fan tutte*! Recorded live in March 2013 at the Teatro Real in Madrid, this is a co-production with the Thtre Monnet. Haneke sets the action at a party in the mansion of a wealthy, modern-day Don Alfonso; the young people wear contemporary costumes, while Alfonso and others are dressed as aristocrats from Mozarts era. On the left side of the stage hangs a massive, unfinished painting in the style of the 18th-century French painter Antoine Watteau, and Despinas pure white costume is that of a jester named Gilles who appears in one of Watteaus paintings.
