*Capriccio and Bagatelle* is an album centered on the theme of a transcendent musical dialogue between the 18th-century cellist and composer Joseph-Marie-Clment Dallabaco and the contemporary cellist Kirill Timofeev.While searching for little-known cello works during the COVID-19 pandemic, Timofeev discovered Dallabaccos *11 Caprices for Solo Cello* and meticulously studied the manuscript. Faced with source material that still contained errors and omissions, he actively embraced the freedom granted to the performer and interpreted the work through his own sensibilities as a contemporary artist. Furthermore, by pairing these pieces with five of his own compositions, he has created an original program in which the two cellistsseparated by some 250 yearsseem to converse with one another.Tokyo M Plus
