[A Collection of Chamber Concertos for Small Ensembles Popular in the Late Baroque Period]Concerto grosso was popular throughout Europe during the late Baroque period. This collection brings together chamber concertoswhich followed the concerto grosso form but gained popularity because they could be performed more casually by smaller ensemblesas well as works arranged for such smaller ensembles. The collection features works for two recorders, or a recorder and an oboe, in three-part arrangements with a basso continuo, as well as four-part works with a separate cello part. In addition to works by Vivaldiwho composed extensively in this genrethe album also includes an arrangement of Corellis famous Christmas Concerto, a delightful addition.
