Over the course of 40 days, the two explored several archives in Venice and discovered a total of six previously unknown worksincluding recorder sonatas and pieces for harpsichordwhich they have recorded here for the first time. The album features numerous intriguing works, including pieces attributed to Vivaldi; a toccata believed to have been written by Gaspariniwho also served as music director at the Pietfor one of his students, Isabella; and a sonata composed in a similar style but which, due to differences in technique, cannot be definitively attributed to Gasparini.
