Lilit Grigoryan, a pianist from Yerevan, Armenia. She began playing the piano at age 7 and, after graduating from the Rostock University of Music and Drama, has been actively performing, including a stint as Artist-in-Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Academy in Belgium. She has performed in concert halls around the world and actively participates in chamber music. On her 2018 NAXOS release, *Works for Viola and Piano* (8.573730), she delivers a superb performancecentered primarily on Classical-era piecesalongside the young Japanese violist Hiyori Togawa.This solo album focuses on variations, featuring six sets of variations ranging from Bach-Busonis Chaconne to Szymanowski. Through Grigorians careful and thoughtful interpretation of each melody, the ingenuity of these composers is vividly brought to life.
