He studied at the Turin Conservatory and the Freiburg University of Music. He studied composition with Gilberto Bosco, Carlo Pinelli, and Brian Ferneyhough. His musical roots are said to be in Andalusia, North Africa, and Asia. The titles of the songs on this album are also oriental and Jewish. The photo in the liner shows Castagnoli present at the recording, which suggests that the performance is in accordance with the composer’s ideal.Both the cello and viola sound well, and the sound is very thrilling. Since th
