Aiji Egawa

In 1957, he made his record debut in 1959 under the guidance of composer Masao Koga. In 1955, she had a big hit with “Koi no Karakasa. He went on to lead the singing and dancing line in a spectacular way. In 1976, he founded the Egawa School of New Dance. The duo of Mitori Egawa (Iemoto) and Aiji Egawa (Soke) began to push forward the new dance style. To commemorate his “Yonenrei” (longevity), Michito Goda, the president of the Japan Singers Association, who has been a close friend of Egawa’s, wrote and composed one of the songs for him. Mr. Goda wrote “Koshi no Miyako” for Mr. Itsuki last year to commemorate his 60 years as a singer, and was awarded a special prize by the judges of the 57th Japan Lyricists’ Grand Prize. The other work is a song dedicated to Iemoto Egawa Tori, who was a famous dance instructor. (C)RS
