The long-awaited debut album by Sheherazaad, a performer, composer, and producer from the United States. Set against a backdrop of personal disconnectionincluding the end of a fiancas well as anger, guilt, and an identity crisis, the album portrays women as storytellers, historians, survivors, and witnesses. By fusing instruments from Hindustani, Turkish, Arabic, and Carnatic music with ambient sounds, she constructs a unique sonic world where folk noir, dark pop, and ambient music intertwine. With the participation of over 30 musicians and female artists from South Asia, the project has evolved into a grand musical work exploring contradiction, loneliness, and self-recovery.
