Between 1946 and 1952, van Beinum recorded eight Beethoven overtures and Haydns Military Symphony with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as Brahmss Haydn Variations with his own Concertgebouw Orchestra. The Haydn Variations were a frequent feature of van Beinums repertoire, and this recording is the third of four studio sessions he made of the work.Universal Music/IMS
