Description:

Robin Michael, a cellist born in 1976, studied at the Royal Academy of Music in the UK. While serving as principal cellist of the Orchestre Rvolutionnaire et Romantique, founded by Gardiner, he regularly appears as a guest artist with orchestras around the world, and his performances are widely loved. He has also been an active cellist with the Fidlio Trio for over ten years and is highly regarded as a chamber musician. On this recording of Brahms, Robin Michael and his collaborator Daniel Tong use restored cellos from the 17th through 19th centuries and an 1897 Brtner grand piano to recreate the sound that Brahms and Schumann would have actually heard.Naxos Japan
