Although Puig-Roger is known as a complete musician who accomplished much more than just being a composer, pianist, organist, and educator, unfortunately, his work as a composer is not widely known. This CD focuses on Puig-Rogers role as a composer, marking the 100th anniversary of his birth in 2010. The program features works by contemporary composers such as Puig-Roger, Tournemire, and Messiaen interspersed among pieces by the masters Csar Franck and Marcel Dupr, creating a well-structured arrangement that vividly conveys the vibrant atmosphere of the Parisian music scene in the 1930s and 1940s.
