Reintaller: Song CollectionThe opera *Katechen of Heilbronn*, released in 2012, came as a small shock to lovers of German music, who exclaimed, I had no idea there was such a wonderful composer. His work, while reminiscent of both Brahms and Bruckner, exuded an indescribable charm that made it unforgettable from the very first listen.Such was Reintaller. He also possessed remarkable talent as a song composer. He published his first song in his twenties. Although the songs written as Op. 6 were set to Italian poetry, the pieces included on this album date from a slightly later period and feature carefully selected texts set to truly well-thought-out music. While the forms themselves are relatively simple, the beauty of the melodies is simply breathtaking. Schnes deep baritone brings out the best in these songs.
