This album was created around songwriter and naturalist Jonathan Meiburg. In addition to Meiburg, the album features Shearwater members Emily Lee and Dan Duszynski, as well as a diverse array of musicians. Multi-instrumentalist Shahzad Ismaily, saxophonist and clarinetist Doug Wieselman, kanun player Farouz Zriek, guitarist Leo Abrahams, ngoni player Mamadou Kouyate, percussionists Mahamadou Tounkara and Moctar Kouyate (Ngoni Ba), and even the one-of-a-kind drummer Thor Harris are all listed among the contributors.
