Description:

A collection of works by the Polish composer Szymanowski. Szymanowski (18821937) was a composer of the late Romantic period who possessed an extremely unique style: he would write unique, rugged works incorporating folk songs from the Tatra Mountains in southern Poland, and then compose mystical music reflecting influences from Islam and Oriental literature. The song cycle *piewy*, featuring the delicate and beautiful orchestral sounds based on poems by the Polish-Jewish poet Tuwim, Nocturne and Tarantella, originally written for violin and piano; and Symphony No. 4, which is essentially a piano concerto, where you can enjoy Eva Kupiecs free-spirited and dynamic piano performance. Recorded in 2016 by the Rhineland-Palatinate State Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Karl Heinz Steffens. (C)RS
