Description:

Throughout the first half of the 20th century, Beecham explored all of Deliuss works from his peak creative period (19001915), as well as his favorite pieces from other periods, with unparalleled enthusiasm. Beacham re-recorded many of Deliuss major works two or even three times as recording technology advanced and it became possible to accurately capture Deliuss magical soundscapes. All of the works included on this CD were recorded between 1946 and 1952, and include recordings made during the Second Delius Festival, which Beecham organized in London in October and November 1946. The 1949 recording of *Sketches in the North* is Beechams only one of this work. 8.110984
