Carpe Diem String Quartet

Description:

Why are there so few recordings of a piece that touches the heart so deeply?NAXOS has recently been focusing on releasing works by Taneyev. Although he composed 11 string quartets, his early works were not assigned opus numbers, so this No. 2 actually represents a work from his mature period. Russian melodies brimming with nostalgia, set within a solid, Beethoven-like form, are sure to capture the heart of anyone who hears them.
