The edgy sound is striking, and this recording truly makes one want to hear Bartks music in this very style. The First Symphony, while evoking Schoenbergian elements, retains a classical aesthetic. In contrast, the Second Symphony features even more pronounced experimental elements. The two Italian soloists present Bartks workswhich can often be challengingwith a straightforward interpretation.
