Back when he was a conductor and composer, there was someone this amazingPaul Kletzki, a conductor known among connoisseurs for his masterful performances of several of Mahlers symphonies, was also an outstanding composer. Although the orchestral part he wrote for this piano concerto was discarded, you can hear the version that was later completed here. It is an exhilarating work, rich in tonal character, that pushes the limits of piano technique.
