Description:

Penderecki (1933), one of Polands leading composers, is said to have returned fully to the Romantic style from the strikingly vivid music of his Elegy for the Victims of Hiroshima period. This collection of art songs was written for the 2010 celebrations marking the 200th anniversary of Chopins birth, and as a work, it possesses a dreamlike quality that belongs to the same musical world as his Symphony No. 8. This recording offers a chance to savor Pendereckis current works, imbued with universal beauty. Recorded in Poland in 2012, conducted by Antoni Wit. (C)RS
