Zador: Elegies and Dances, Oboe Concerto, and OthersEugene Zador (Hungarian name: Jnos Zdor) was a composer born in Btaszk, Hungary, who later emigrated to the United States. He studied music in Vienna and Leipzig, where he also studied under Max Reger; it is fair to say that he developed his rich, substantial style during this time. Beginning in 1921, he taught at the New Vienna Conservatory, and from 1935 onward, he also taught at the Budapest Conservatory. However, when World War II broke out, he moved to the United States, where he made significant contributions to the field of film music.His style has been described as falling between *La Traviata* and *Lulu*, and he produced numerous unique works that fuse traditional timbres with 20th-century idioms.
