Chamber Music Performed on Instruments Derived from Paganini Paganini and Chamber MusicWhile Paganini is famous for his virtuosic violin playing, his chamber music works contain many accessible and charming melodies. Paganini composed and arranged his ensembles entirely on the guitar while traveling. He also loved the sound of the viola and even attempted the bold approach of giving the viola a leading role in his Guitar Quartet No. 15. Although promoted by his impresarios as a devilish figure, Paganini was in reality a gentle man who lovingly raised his son as a single father; the portrait he himself favored also conveys a very serene atmosphere. Instrument UsedThe instrument used by Carlotta DAria is a guitar made by Oli-Kerlica (Paris, 1797), which is housed in the Paganini Room at the Palazzo Turci in Genoa, Italy.
