The World of a Famous Authors ProseThe album *Trevor Baca: Stirrings Still*, featuring music set to texts by Irish author Samuel Beckett, narrated by Paul Griffiths and performed by the Jack Quartet, is being released on the ECM New Series. Beckett, known as the author of the play *Waiting for Godot* and for exploring themes of absurdity and human existence, completed his final prose work, *Stirrings Still*, in 1987; it was published the following year, in 1988. In 2006, Griffithsa renowned British musicologist and music criticwas commissioned by Manfred Eicher to find a composer capable of creating music that would resonate deeply with the text, while respecting the meaning of its words and staying as close as possible to the original text in the recording.
