He began playing the bassoon at age 8 and studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and in Dsseldorf, among other places, under such distinguished masters as Klaus Thunemann, Dag Jensen, Stefan Schweigelt, Sergio Azzilini, and Marion Reinhardt.He showcases the capabilities and charm of the contrabassoon in a variety of ensembles, ranging from unaccompanied pieces to duets with the cello, as well as quartets and quintets for bassoon and strings.
