This is the second release following the highly acclaimed previous recording of Sibeliuss *Finlandia* by the Kyoto City Symphony Orchestraa very rare orchestra operated by a local governmentand its principal conductor, Uwe Mundt. By keeping the brass section somewhat subdued, they bring out a lyrical beauty. The result has a slightly graceful feela finish thats quintessentially Kyoto-style? Its reported that this duo has plans to perform works by Bartk and others in the future.
