Armenian pianist and composer Stepan Elmas. He displayed musical talent from an early age and gained a reputation as a child prodigy, giving recitals of Franz Liszts works as early as age 13. He eventually went to Weimar, Germany, where he met Liszta long-cherished dreamand continued to correspond with him while honing his skills in Vienna. After achieving success as a pianist, he formed close friendships with Anton Rubinstein and Jules Massenet, and in 1912, he moved to Switzerland.
